Mom and I have two Amaryllis plants this year. One I managed to successfully care for over the summer. The other was an impulse buy at Walmart. The Walmart one has bloomed, and the other has sent up a shoot. A picture of it from last year is here. The second two pictures are with the macro setting on my camera.

How lovely. Do you remember the name of this amaryllis? I bought Pink Diamond from Wal-Mart this year, but my buds aren't open yet. I was wondering if this was Pink Diamond. It sure does look like the picture on my box.

Always Growing
Jan- I just dug out the box, and it says the Amaryllis is called 'Stargazer'. However, the picture on the box is most definitely of a red amaryllis, so maybe it got the wrong label.

Sarah, my amaryllis bloomed a lovely pink, but I don't think it is Pink Diamond. It does not have a white center like Pink Diamond does. I think mine might be Pink Surprise instead. This isn't the first time a plant has been mislabeled when I bought it.
Jan- Mislabeled plants annoy me, however, a pink flower in February is welcome no matter what it's label.

I see someone loves Amaryllis, as I do! Mislabeling is sooooo common among the big box stores. Isn't that irritating? But as you said, still a pretty flower! :-)
Kylee- Yes, I think I'll be buying one (or more) a year from now on. They are so pretty and just the thing to brighten up January/February.
